Dielectric |
Totally Dry |
Loose Tube |
SM, NZD and MM |
Dielectric optical cable recommended for external installations in ducts or directly buried. Construction made of Totally dry loose tubes (gel-free) protected with hydro expandable elements to prevent entry and migration of moisture. Tubes assembled around the central element, the core of the cable is protected against moisture by hydro expandable materials and an inner jacket of thermoplastic material. Fiberglass yarns are used as additional protection against rodents. The assembly is protected by an outer jacket of thermoplastic weather resistant material.

All-dielectric optical cable, with singlemode or multimode acrylate coated fibers, grouped into loose tubes protected by swellable materials. These tubes are stranded around a dielectric central member. The cable core is protected against water penetration by swellable materials , and covered by a polyethylene sheath. Over this internal sheath, a fiberglass layer providing protection against rodents is applied. The cable is covered by an external sheath made of polyethylene or LSZH material.
Installation Environment | Outdoor or Indoor/Outdoor |
Operation Environment | In ducts or directly buried. Recommended for installations in places with possibility of rodents attack (Rattus norvegicus or Rattus rattus). |
Singlemode, singlemode with NZD (non zero dispersion) or multimode fibers. The fiber characteristics are discribed in Annex A, Annexx B or Annex C
Fiber | Characteristics |
Single mode | According to technical specification 2000 (Annex A) |
Multi mode (OM1, OM2, OM3 and OM4) | According to technical specification 1999 (Annex B) |
Optical fiber with an acrylate coating.

Dielectric-material element located in the center of the core cable to prevent the efforts of the cable tension. As central member, it is applied a bar of plastic material reinforced by FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) fiberglass.
The tubes are stranded together to form the cable core. The core shall be protected with water blocking material to prevent water intrusion. If necessary, filler rods may be applied to maintain a cylindrical core.
