UNDERGROUND SLIMBOX FK-CTOS-16P (1X16 CIRCULAR 3-4mm)

The Optical Termination Closure FK-CTOS-16P is designed to accommodate and protect optical splice between the distribution cable and drop cables of an optical termination network. It has separate storage / merge environments and customer activation management. With a mechanical sealing system, which supports both circular drops and drops flat, the watertightness of the closure is guaranteed, being ideal for underground and aerial external applications.The FK-CTOS-16P is a flexible closure, allowing for two different configurations: only with fusions (up to 4 splicing trays with 16 supports each) or fusion and connectorized drops (up to 2 splicing trays – 16 splicing supports each – and one adapter tray – up to 16 SC adapters). It is possible to install up to 2 connectorized splitters at the outputs (1×8 NC / SC) for network expansion or only 1×16 level (NC / SC). It accepts input cables with a diameter of up to 17.5 mm. Through its oval door it is possible to bleed the main cable, in addition to secondary ports, allowing network distribution for cables up to 17.5 mm. Drop cables can be flat (3.0 x 2.0 mm) or circular (up to 4 mm).

Description

The Slimbox Underground Terminal (FK-CTOS-16P) is used to store and protect optical fusion splices between the distribution cables and the drop cables in a termination network.

It has separated areas for storage/splicing and management/activation of clients.

With a mechanical sealling system, that supports both round and flat drop cables, the sealling is ensured, making the closure ideal for underground or aerial applications.

The FK-CTOS-16P is very versatile, allowing several different configurations to be used: only fusion splices (up to 4 splice trays, with 16 splice protectors holder each), splice and connectorized drops (up to 2 splice trays and 1 adapter tray with up to 16 SC adapters).

Is possible to perform the installation of up to 2 connectorized 1×8 splitters (NC/SC), or 1 connectorized 1×16 splitter (NC/SC).

It accepts entry cables (feeders) diameters from 8 up to 17.5mm (grommet A – 8 to 14mm / grommet B – 14 to 17.5mm). Through its oval port is possible to do a mid-span branching of the main cable, and, through the 2 round ports, the network branching, for cables from 8 up to 12 mm.

The drop cables can be flat (3.0 x 2.0mm) or round (from 3 up to 4mm).

The NAP is supplied with pole/wall mounting accessory/support, which allows the installation in manholes.

Resistant to UV radiation.

Application

The closure is resistant to corrosion, aging, it has UV protection and it also protected against dust and water jets, which makes it ready for outdoor applications (aerial and underground) – IP68.

It has wall, pole and strand mounting supports. Furthermore, it is suitable for installations in underground boxes.
