Delivery Optical Fiber is used for efficient containment and transport of high power multimode laser beams generated by e.g. fiber lasers. Our Low index TrueClad™ coating ensures that all power is contained within the fiber, since light leaked from the core will be captured by the high NA cladding waveguide. This facilitates supreme safety and prevents fiber damage due to coating “hot spots”.
The multimode core of this fiber is made of Pure Silica, facilitating low loss, low heating and having high threshold for optical damage. The first cladding layer is highly doped with Fluorine yielding NA of 0.22. The second cladding layer is also Pure Silica. The fiber is coated with a double layer low-index polymer coating, TrueClad, providing cladding NA of more than 0.45.
