Furukawa Electric and Lightera Showcase Cutting-Edge Fusion Splicing Innovations at ECOC 2025

Copenhagen, Denmark — September 29, 2025 —  Furukawa Electric and Lightera proudly introduce announce their dynamic presence at ECOC 2025, Europe’s largest optical communications exhibition, taking place September 29–October 1 in Copenhagen. At the forefront of fiber optic innovation, Lightera will spotlight its latest fusion splicing technologies, designed to meet the evolving demands of multicore, ocean, sensing, and specialty fiber applications.

Visitors to the Lightera booth will experience live demonstrations of:

  • Multicore Demo: Featuring 4MCF/19MCF on the S185EVROF platform.
  • S185EDV: Showcasing cross-sectional views of multicore splicing.
  • S179 Plus: Optimized for ocean fiber and advanced sensing deployments.

These solutions are engineered for precision, portability, and performance—many hand-carried directly from development labs to ensure real-time engagement with attendees.

“Our fusion splicing lineup reflects our commitment to pushing the boundaries of fiber connectivity,” said Konstantin Larionov, Sales Manager Fusion Splicers at Furukawa Electric Europe.   “ECOC is the ideal platform to connect with global partners and showcase how our splicing solutions enable scalable, reliable networks.”

Lightera’s booth will also feature collaborative displays with Furukawa Electric and FITEL, highlighting the synergy between splicing hardware and optical components.
