Lightera Introduces RightWave™ 125/200 LRXL Generation 2 Fiber for Extended L-Band Amplifiers
OFC 2025, Booth 2843, San Francisco, California, April 1, 2025 – Lightera, a leading innovator in optical fiber solutions, is excited to introduce the RightWave™ 125/200 LRXL Generation 2 Erbium-Doped Fiber. This next-generation fiber reinforces Lightera’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge erbium-doped fiber solutions for advanced optical networks.
As demand for higher capacity in DWDM systems grows, maximizing bandwidth utilization within each fiber is crucial. The LRXL Generation 2 fiber enables amplification in the extended L-band, reaching up to 1627 nm—surpassing the limits of traditional L-band erbium-doped fibers. When combined with Lightera’s extended C-band erbium fibers, this solution allows network operators to fully optimize both C- and L-band transmission, enhancing system performance and scalability.
“With the growing need for higher-capacity optical networks, service providers require innovative solutions to maximize bandwidth efficiency,” said Rasmus Jensen, Product Market Manager, Specialty Communications, at Lightera. “As we introduce the RightWave 125/200 LRXL Generation 2 fiber, we are expanding the possibilities of L-band amplification, enabling our customers to push the boundaries of transmission performance and fully leverage both C- and L-band resources.”
